About CME INDIA
CME INDIA Origin
Recently, in medical education among students and residents, some studies have been done which showed immense potential in upgrading knowledge and skill. These days super-specialties care has become standard of care in India too. It is a hard fact that while dealing with super-speciality, some basic facts vital to patient care is missed. Also at remote places, some physicians do not get time to update and need basic CMEs. Even attending conferences do not sharpen skill of patient care in totality. To overcome these hurdles a new experiment was started by imparting 24 hour CME, live case discussions, inter specialties discussions to impart patient care using WhatsApp as platform. CME INDIA group (Initially by Association of Physicians India, Jharkhand Chapter) on 23rd March 2016. This group was started with physicians and later pan-India physicians were added quickly to its maximum capacity of 257 members. Unique concept was to add super-specialites of all branches of internal medicine. Strict restriction was imposed by admin on posting good morning, birthday and other social or political posts. Only conference updates, live cases with history, ECGs, Chest x-rays, echo clips, blood reports etc. were posted. Interactive discussion with physicians and concerned super-specialists led to fast diagnostic considerations, updated treatment modalities and overall upgradation of medical education with fun and vigor. Later, due to constant demand, extension of main group was done as CME INDIA1, CME INDIA2 and CME INDIA 3 with pan-India presence including DNB students. So far over ten thousand unique cases have been posted and discussed. Members experienced that this form of Medical Education has improved their skill immensely.
At present, we have more than 2000 members pan-India.
